three months back in america. so many mixed, yet happy feelings. (still looking for a way back).

11 years since the attacks in new york. i’ll never forget that day, i think it is the first time i became acutely aware how fragile life is, and how in a second it could all be gone. and that we need to appreciate all the times we have with our family, friends and loved ones. how we need to argue less, and hug more, and to do what truly makes us happy. its today that we remember the brave first responders who ran into the falling buildings in an effort to save someone else even if they themselves didn’t come back out. due to our men and women in the military who strive to keep us safe, thank you for all that you do.

on another note, i’m feeling incredible discouraged by the GRE/application fees, no job, and application fees to the schools I am considering. goodness so expensive.

    France, je t’aime.

Today I’m missing france a lot. Just everything about it. The weather, people, architecture and the food.
Today would be the perfect pastry day. Too bad a true good pastry is 6000 miles away.

    Time to bake.

    home sweet home

Now that I’ve been home almost 2 weeks, it’s about time I do my post-home update.

But it’s going to be short&sweet because as happy as I am to be back, I miss france terribly.

The 31st of may, the fambam arrived, I met them at the airport and we went straight to Dijon by train! We did all the travel by train or metro, I wanted them to experience the true french way of travel. In Dijon we rented a car (i spoke all french with the rental agency, and felt rather accomplished in my ability to communicate with her!), and went to Vezelay, and Fontenay. We also went to Strasbourg, Caen (for the 68th D-Day memorial (it was probably the most amazing thing to have witnessed)), then finished up in Paris with our good family friends Grace and Nicky.

I should and will eventually upload photos from those days. But since I’m dealing with american culture shock (like driving again?, negative. I hate driving, and LOVED taking public transit, and I want it again). Oh and the fact that everyone speaks english here is a major one to come to terms with. Totally can’t play “your team” with everyone understanding me.

    bittersweet

    FINALLY FINISHED WITH FINALS.

    cependant.

I still have delf next week. ( ew. but not important academically).

I had a total of 9 exams, 12 hours long, during 4 days. not enough time.

but after those exams I began the painful process of packing. :( it’s super exciting to be going home, but its so very bittersweet.

Well, this was short, but I need to shower and get to bed early. I’m going adventuring with my friend Aaron to Le Mans tomorrow and Rouen saturday! YAY no school!
